Anita McCurdie

Education Wellbeing Consultant

After 18 years in the classroom, I became increasingly interested in the gap between what we know supports learning and wellbeing and what is often possible within the everyday realities of schools.

As a teacher and parent, I see it from both sides. I understand the pressures educators and families face. When I speak to educators, they talk about heavy workloads, competing demands, complex student needs, shifting priorities and constant change — all of which can make it difficult to focus on what matters most.

Through events and Spotlight Sessions, I bring together practical, evidence-informed ideas and draw on the voices of leading educators, practitioners and researchers to explore what helps make education and wellbeing more sustainable, connected and effective.

These sessions create space to step back from daily school life and engage with ideas that are both grounded and practical. They are designed to strengthen connection and support more thoughtful, human approaches to learning and wellbeing.

Drawing on my experience as a teacher and training in yoga, mindfulness and wellbeing, there is always a focus on the small, intentional shifts that support both educators and students. Not by adding more, but by helping people reconnect with what matters most and create conditions where learning, wellbeing and enjoyment can genuinely flourish.
